About this event
As summer fades and the earth leans toward stillness, we gather in community to celebrate the Autumn Equinox. The weekend will honour this transitional time of the seasons, as we say goodbye to the yang- like energy of summer and welcome the more introspective, yin-like season of Autumn.
This is the fourth year we’ve held this intimate retreat at Thu's home, an old schoolhouse in Omemee. Together, we’ll soften into the season, settle our nervous systems, and reconnect with the Divine Feminine and Sacred Masculine within and around us.
We will focus on settling our nervous systems to prepare and welcome change both outside and in, by anchoring in grounding practices, and letting go of what we no longer need to take with us into the next season of our lives.
You will be introduced to, and experience, a variety of practices from Energy Medicine, Meditation, Myofascial Release and Self Massage, TRE, Breathwork, Dance, Qi Gong, and Rest. Our practices will pay extra special attention to the organs related to the late summer/Fall Season, of Stomach and Spleen, and Lungs and Large Intestine, and emotionally and energetically from calming worry and anxiety, to releasing what no longer serves us.
There will be free time to spend in Nature, eat, lounge, journal, dream, rest, read, or do nothing at all. A vegan dinner and snacks and breakfast are included, as well as celebrating the abundance of the earth at this Autumn Equinox by coming together to nourish ourselves and connect in community. If energy allows, we will welcome the night with an ecstatic dance journey on the peat moss dance floor outside, or choose to chill by the fire, or get cozy in your tent instead.
The single day event runs from 11-8pm but you have the option to stay overnight and tent on the land (indoor washrooms are available). Those staying over will be treated to breakfast in community and a morning Qi Gong practice, followed by the opportunity to visit the largest Buddhist temple
Together, we will cross the seasonal threshold from Summer’s outward Yang energy to Fall’s inward Yin embrace. This is a sacred space to release, receive, and remember.
