About this event

You are invited to gather around the Farm Table for a special evening called Hai Quê Hương: Two Homelands.

Co-hosted by Thu Nguyen and Huong Vo, two Vietnamese immigrants who have followed their hearts beyond the norm and embody their dreams of creative expression, love of food, storytelling, while defining success on their own terms.

Farm Table Dinners are an intimate open air dining experience on the land. This one is a night of remembrance, celebration and creative expression: a Vietnamese farm table to honour our ancestors and the courage that carried them here, the golden lineage that led all of us to meet at this table, this land, this meal grown with love.

Through a three-course family-style farm to table dinner prepared by Chef Dennis with a menu curated by our co-hosts to represent traditional and modern Vietnamese cuisine from the South, Central and Northern regions, including secret recipes from our mothers. Between courses, spoken word and storytelling turn us toward the inheritance we all carry: the stories our parents and grandparents handed down, the ones that shaped us, the ones that limited us, and the ones ready to be updated for our collective liberation.

Come to eat, to listen, discuss, and to ask what stories you're ready to rewrite.

Your ticket includes:

  1. A drink with ingredients from Vietnam, grown at the farm. Served warm or cold, seasonal flavours, gathered, blended and steeped with intention.

  2. A tour of Hammock Hills, our certified organic farm.

  3. Three course family style dinner, featuring seasonal, local produce and traditional Vietnamese dishes (vegetarian options available)

About Your Co-Hosts

Thu Nguyen is the co-founder of Hammock Earth, a space for ecological belonging. Born in Vietnam and raised in Canada as an immigrant, Thu's path has wound through systems engineering, tech entrepreneurship, and a long return to the body, the land, and her own Vietnamese roots. Early on her healing journey with chronic illness, she travelled and wrote My Quest for Yummy Banh Mi. She's currently in a season of integration, closing old chapters, opening new ones, and reclaiming what liberation means on her own terms. She works as a somatic leadership coach and facilitator, supporting others through change and reconnection, while continuing to explore identity, healing, and belonging through food, circles, nervous system reset and authentic expression. For Thu, hosting this farm table is really special, a chance to bring every part of her life's path, and every part of herself, to one table with family and friends.

Huong Vo is an emerging poet and spoken word artist, community facilitator and career coach. Born in Vietnam and growing up in what is now known as Canada, Huong’s work explores intersectional identity, diaspora, and memoirs of family, with poignant reflections sprinkled with culturally relevant humour. She has performed at JAYU Slams at the TIFF and has recently been featured at the Provocation Idea Festival’s Flavours of Home: Vietnam event as part of Stratford’s inaugural Asian Heritage Month. Huong uses her art for community building, healing and cultural reconnection.
