First Harvest & Farm Table Dinners
Welcome to a super new moon in Gemini and the emerging rhythm of our newsletter. New moons invite fresh beginnings, and Gemini brings curiosity, connection, and the courage to follow unexpected threads. As we step into this new lunar cycle, we're opening ourselves to growth, surprise opportunities, and serendipitous encounters.

This "Strawberry New Moon" feels like it is ushering in a whole new season as we move from prepping the soil and planting seed into savouring the first harvest and adding small livestock to our farm. There is something truly magical and replenishing about the first harvest of the season. Perhaps it's the simple joy and deep gratitude that come with appreciating those fresh flavours and crisp textures that have not been stored or traveled hundreds of kilometres. This weekend, we are excited to share our very first community salad lunch harvested entirely from the garden at the upcoming Creative Calm Workshop. It is a simple but meaningful reminder of the abundance that arrives when we nurture soil, seeds, creativity, and community in partnership with the sun and rain. Adding to the mounting excitement is the anticipated arrival of 30 heritage variety chicks and 15 new laying hens that will be arriving this week, bringing fresh energy, curious personalities, and the promise of future harvests to come. Their arrival feels like another beautiful sign of the season unfolding and another summer of "best ever" memories ahead. As the farm begins to hum with life, we invite you to explore our upcoming dinners, workshops, and community gatherings. We hope you will get to experience one of our farm table dinners between the gardens and agree that it is worth the drive and becomes a highlight of your summer. Sometimes the most meaningful connections begin around a shared table or an interesting conversation in breath taking colours of a beautiful sunset. We look forward to welcoming you soon. |

| A note from Thu |
Hello! It's been wonderful to set an intention to slow down every new moon with Anahita to share a glimpse into all that's emerging in our very full lives. This collaboration has been so incredibly nourishing and grounding since our launch on Earth Day. This month, we've been spending time with our founding members laying in the trilliums, sharing our dreams around a fire, dancing under the full moon, and touching and tasting the goodness of the Earth. As we approach the Summer Solstice in the Fire Horse year, I've been reflecting on the Heart. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, summer is associated with the Heart and the Fire element, our capacity for joy, connection, love, and spirit. My own heart has been both very full and very tender this year. Perhaps that's what tending the heart looks like: allowing ourselves to feel it all. One thing I know for certain is that gathering around food and nature remains one of my favourite ways to heal, connect, and build community. Some of my most meaningful memories have happened around a kitchen table: sharing recipes, food, stories, laughter, and different traditions. This summer, we're excited to celebrate some of those traditions through a series of Farm Table dinners inspired by cultures from around the world. Food has a beautiful way of reminding us that while our stories may be different, our longing for belonging, connection, and nourishment is often the same. July 3 — Lisa Tong (The Chinese Soup Lady) shares the wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine through a seasonal farm table meal. July 17 — Anahita hosts a Persian Farm Table Dinner. August 7 — I'll be collaborating with spoken word artist Huong Vo on a Vietnamese dinner called Hai Quê Hương: A Vietnamese Farm Table with Food, Poetry & Stories.
I hope you'll join us around the table. With love and gratitude, Thu PS. We've heard you wanted to come for dinner and stay over for the weekend. It is an option, so please reach out if you'd like to stay. |

| Culinary Journey through Balance with Traditional Chinese Medicine |
We are so excited to welcome Lisa to our farm as a chef, alongside her daughters as sous chefs on Friday July 3rd. Lisa, the award-winning creator behind @TheChineseSoupLady, has spent two decades documenting generational recipes, exploring the healing language of soups and teas, and studying Traditional Chinese Medicine. This is a rare thing: a multi-course farm table dinner where we get to savour TCM wisdom with seasonal, sustainably sourced ingredients. Anahita and Lisa will guide you through how food is grown, what it does inside the body, and why food is medicine. We have never hosted a collaboration quite like this one and excited do this during the extended Canada Day long weekend. |
